Music
Reporting

How you report the music used depends on whether you have a blanket licence or a single-use licence. Both are simple and straightforward

Single-Use
Licences

Visit our Licence Manger tool to create and apply for your one-off licences.

Music Details

For each track included in your production, make sure you keep a record of:

  • The catalogue or track reference number
  • The track title
  • The composer(s) and arranger(s)
  • The name of the Production Music Library
  • The duration of each individual cue of music recorded

Licence Manager can help you search for and/or add your music details if needed

Production Details

The details you will need to provide about your production include:

  • The production title
  • Any client’s details (e.g. advertising agency, corporate company or commissioning broadcaster)
  • Any reference number(s) you have
  • The Media it will be used on (e.g. radio advert, TV programme, online, etc)
  • The Territory of use required
  • Any additional details depending on the type of licence you require

Details of Media, Territory and additional details options can be found in the Licensing section of our website.

Licence Manager can be used to receive a quote and manage your invoice and licence documents

Broadcast Blankets
& TV Programmes

If you are making programmes under one of our television licences, you can download a cue sheet and submit it to the PRS for Music TV Licensing team.

Completing your cue sheet

When submitting a cue sheet to PRS for Music in relation to one of our television production licences, such as the IPC scheme, simply enter the production details in the header and for each production music track used enter the:

  • Track Title
  • Composer(s)
  • Publisher(s)
  • Label
  • Music Origin = “L”
Working with a Broadcaster

If you’re working on a production commissioned by a broadcaster, they may have their own version of a cue sheet or online system. The data needed will be similar to that in our cue sheet.

Please check with the relevant broadcaster first, before completing and submitting their preferred format for your cue sheet(s)
